【This Week's Zinc Price Center Pulled Back: Operating Rates Across Zinc Downstream Sectors】This week, the zinc price center pulled back, while the operating rates of galvanizing and die-casting zinc alloy sectors increased. For galvanizing, galvanized pipe enterprises saw a resurgence of "rush to buy amid continuous price rise and hold back amid price downturn" sentiment following the pullback in ferrous metals prices, coupled with end-user restocking, which led to a slight increase in overall production. In the die-casting zinc alloy sector, the gradual resumption of production by end-user enterprises, along with the decline in zinc prices, also contributed to an increase in production. However, in the zinc oxide sector, as a few enterprises had not resumed operations due to their own reasons, the overall operating rate of zinc oxide remained relatively small. Next week, China is expected to hold the Two Sessions, and whether there will be restrictions on environmental protection measures remains to be closely monitored. Nevertheless, with downstream consumption improving, the operating rates of enterprises across various sectors are expected to rise next week.
SMM, February 28: This week, the center of zinc prices declined, while the operating rates of galvanizing and die-casting zinc alloy increased. From the perspective of galvanizing, galvanizing pipe enterprises saw a resurgence of "rush to buy amid continuous price rise and hold back amid price downturn" sentiment after the pullback in ferrous metals prices. Coupled with restocking by end-users, overall production increased. Regarding die-casting zinc alloy, the gradual resumption of production by end-user enterprises, along with the decline in zinc prices, also boosted production. In the zinc oxide sector, as a few enterprises had not resumed operations due to their own reasons, the overall operating rate of zinc oxide remained relatively small. Next week, China is expected to hold the Two Sessions, and whether there will be restrictions related to environmental protection remains to be closely monitored. However, with the improvement in downstream consumption, the operating rates of enterprises in various sectors are expected to increase next week.
